Footing Calculator using Rutledge Formula

Simple spreadsheet calculator to check footing design using Rutledge formula.

The Rutledge formula is traditionally used for flag poles and other moment resisting footings. We use it for sheds (mostly cold-formed sheds, largest span 32m, and largest eaves 9m), canopies, and sports nets (eg. golf nets). The formula minimises bearing taken near the surface, and maximises it near the bottom of the footing pier.
